Voice control is the part of smart curtains people are most excited about — say "Alexa, open the curtains" and watch them move. This guide explains how to connect a BAJT curtain motor to Amazon Alexa or Google Home in Pakistan, and the one step that trips almost everyone up.
How voice control works
Yes. BAJT WiFi motors connect through the Tuya or Smart Life app, which links to Alexa and Google Home, so you can open and close curtains by voice or in routines.
The motor does not talk to Alexa directly. It joins your home WiFi through the Tuya or Smart Life app, and then you link that app to Alexa or Google Home once. After that, the curtain appears as a device you can name — "living room curtains", "bedroom curtain" — and control by voice.
No separate hub required
No. The WiFi motor connects straight to your 2.4GHz home WiFi through the Tuya or Smart Life app, and you link that app to Alexa or Google Home once.
Unlike some smart-home devices, you do not need an extra bridge or hub. The Tuya GE82TY has WiFi built in. You pair it, link the account, and you are done.
The 2.4GHz step most people miss
Almost always the network is 5GHz. Curtain motors only join 2.4GHz WiFi, so in your router settings choose the 2.4GHz band (or a separate 2.4GHz SSID) when pairing.
This is the single most common reason a curtain motor will not connect. Most modern routers broadcast both 2.4GHz and 5GHz under the same name, and the phone auto-picks 5GHz. The motor only speaks 2.4GHz, so pairing fails until the phone and motor are on the 2.4GHz band. Our installation team sets this up during installation, so if you bought with installation you will not have to fight it yourself.
Scheduling and scenes
Yes. In the Tuya or Smart Life app you can set time schedules and scenes, and those can also trigger through Alexa or Google Home routines.
A few routines our customers actually use: open the bedroom curtains at a set time in the morning, close the living-room curtains for a movie, or close everything at night in a single "goodnight" command. You can also chain the curtains with other smart devices, so one command closes the curtains, dims the lights, and locks the door.
